As a child I remember being told the story of the “The Princess and the Pea“, a fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. Like all fairy tales, they lived happily ever after.
That made sense to a child with limited world experience. Limited experience with people. But as an adult, I realize that in real life, happily ever after is the last thing they’d be.
